The journey to Let Me Love You - The EP…

When Castella released her smash hit “Let Me Love You” on her birthday - September 7, 2020, she had no idea what the record would do for her career! It ended up being a crossover hit for Castella, introducing her to the “Soul” community and beyond! The record also garnered her the Central Standard Time Show Artist of the Year award as well as Best Female Artist of the Year and Newcomer of the year nominations. The song also did very well on the Smooth Jazz Top 100 Charts, also making it to #1 in Italy and making it to #5 on the Urban Influencer Chart and #6 on the Indie Soul Chart. The plan was to immediately push for the EP. But at the urging of a friend, she released her very first Christmas Song, “Sleigh Ride” which made it to #6 on the Holiday Chart which put the EP on the back burner for the moment. In the meantime, Castella released her very first jingle for good friend DJ CD of Ultimate Entertainment for his syndicated radio show The Central Standard Time Show called “The CST Show Groove - It’s On Right Now.” She also released her fan favorite “Mojito” to radio at the urging of her producer Darryl Swann. She also worked on her latest release “So Glad I Met You.” Castella has stayed busy. “So Glad I Met You” made the Smooth Jazz Top 100 charts as well as making it to #2 on the UK Soul Chart and #1 in Canada! Castella was also approached by producer Tom Glide to remix “So Glad I Met You.” To the delight of everyone, the remix rose to #1 on the UK Soul Breakers Chart and also made it into the Top 10 of the UK Soul Charts. At the same session she recorded the beginnings of “So Glad I Met You,” Castella recorded one of her favorite jazz classics, which she and producer, Jeff Canady added a smooth groove. Alas, Castella is featuring a cover of a 70’s classic rock tune on the long awaited EP. She’ll keep it under wraps for a minute in anticipation of the release. She wants to keep you guessing! This particular song is a window into the eclectic variety of music that Castella loves and grew up listening to. Yet another song and genre of music that shaped her into the singer she is today.
